Fast track your medtech career

The Medtech Industry Connections (MIC) Program is designed to help students build stronger industry connections and awareness of medtech career pathways.

We work with our industry partners as well as ecosystem supporters to provide our MIC students with exclusive opportunities to apply for paid internships, attend events where they can get involved in sector initiatives and directly speak to professionals working in the field.  As part of the MIC Program, you will receive early access to VMH sponsored-opportunities such as:

  • Courses and micro-credentials
  • Career workshops
  • Industry networking events
  • Medtech conferences

Eligible students can also apply for paid industry internships from our industry partners, subject to selection criteria.

We’re here to open doors – the next step is yours to take!

Why Join?

As you start your career in medtech, we want you to be across:

  • What industry employers are looking for from prospective employees (both technical and soft skills!)
  • What type of roles exist
  • Who makes up the medtech industry in Victoria and how you can connect with them

Once you’ve applied you’ll be added to our MIC student database, where current students and grads will be automatically considered for emerging industry internship opportunities (subject to the company’s selection criteria). You will also be added to our mailing list where you will receive first-access to student-focused opportunities to learn more about the medtech sector, career pathways and industry sought-after skills.

Due to the high volume of applicants please note that your application does not guarantee you an internship or admission to our courses, workshops, and sector opportunities.

Your application will remain active on our database for 1 year from your application date; you will need to re-apply thereafter.

Eligibility

To apply you need to fulfil the following:

  • Over 18 years old,
  • Enrolled in an Australian university or TAFE course at the time of applying, or have recently graduated (within the last year)
  • Studying a degree relevant to medtech*, or have a demonstrated interest in working in the medtech sector

*such as (but not limited to) biomedical, mechanical, electrical, software or chemical engineering, biosciences, data analytics, medical or business disciplines

Note: if you  graduated more than one year ago, we encourage you to sign up to our mailing list to stay up to date on relevant opportunities. You can also visit our Sector Opportunities Portal to check out internship and graduate programs currently open.

"The internship experience has allowed me to not only hone both technical and personal skills in several engineering domains, but provided a network of connections I will utilise throughout my MedTech journey."
